Since Alpha Phi Alpha's installment into the University of Mississippi's Greek community, our founders and forefathers worked hard not only academically but in service to the community as well. Campus and community involvement are essential as Alpha Men and that is exactly what our alumni sought to accomplish. With achievements such as first African American editor of our school newspaper, The Daily Mississippian, and first African American to enter to the University of Mississippi Student Hall of Fame, our founders have certainly laid the groundwork for Nu Upsilon's success .
